UPDATE:
If Democrats get their way religious hospitals would be forced to perform abortions, Christian churches would be forced to host events that are contrary to the Bible’s teachings and Christian schools would be required to accommodate the preferences of transgender students regarding athletic teams and bathrooms.

The House voted 236-173 to approve the “Equality Act,” legislation that would expand the 1964 Civil Rights Act to include sexual orientation and gender identity. It would also protect on the basis of pregnancy, childbirth or a related medical condition.

But it would also completely obliterate the 1993 Religious Freedom Restoration Act, a law that stops government from encroaching on a person’s religious liberty. In other words, the Equality effectively puts a bullseye on every person of faith in the nation.

Eight Republicans broke ranks and voted with the Democrats to attack religious liberty. The renegade Republicans include: Rep. Brooks (IN), Rep. Diaz-Balart (FL), Rep. Fitzpatrick (PA), Rep. Hurd (TX), Rep. Katko (NY), Rep. Reed (NY), Rep. Stefanik (NY) and Rep. Walden (OR).

I wrote extensively about this issue in my upcoming book, “Culture Jihad: How to Stop the Left From Killing a Nation.”

Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA) told The Todd Starnes Radio Show that the bill will “erode the First Amendment and totally destroy religious liberties.”

“This is an attempt to silence the Christian voice,” Hice said. “This is going to literally empower the federal government to force people to contrast their deeply held religious beliefs.”

“Christians will be forced to violate their beliefs if the Equality Act passes,” declared a headline on Christian Broadcasting Network.

Tony Perkins, the president of the Family Research Council, said no institution or person of faith would escape the Orwellian reach of the law and predicted a” catastrophic loss of religious freedom in America.”

“It is an egregious attack on the freedom to believe and live according to those beliefs. It would position the government to lord over churches and other faith-based institutions, dictating potentially who they hire, how their facilities are used, and even punishing them for not falling in step with a view of human sexuality that directly contradicts orthodox biblical teaching,” Perkins said.

Hundreds of pastors and religious leaders have already signed a letter warning that churches could be forced by the government to be opened up as public accommodations to host events and other celebrations against their conscience.

“This is extremely dangerous and I don’t think people realize how bad it is,” Family Research Council’s Travis Weber said on the Todd Starnes Radio Show.

When Democrats introduced the legislation last March they predicted that Conservatives would “use fear” to stop the bill.

“We cannot allow claims of religious freedom to be used to discriminate against an LGBT individual,” Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI) said.

In other words, faith-based flower shop owners, bakers and even adoption agencies would be forced to engage in practices that might violate the tenets of their religious beliefs.

Weber told Starnes the Equality Act would not only gut religious liberty, it would also target biological women.

“It should be renamed the ‘Inequality Act’,” Weber said. “When you actually dig beneath the surface and see what it does to women, to children, to families across America (and) what it does to religious freedom – it’s actually incredibly unequal.”

Rep. Hice said he fears Democrats could use the bill, if it becomes law, to “totally silence and to some extent, potentially even criminalize the Christian voice when it comes to the issue of marriage.”

It’s unclear what will happen in the Senate – especially if Establishment Republicans side with Democrats.

So as it now stands, the only thing standing between religious liberty and tyranny may be President Trump’s veto pen.

Dear Mr. President,
We, the members of the CURE National Clergy Network, collectively write you a letter concerning
(H.R.5) currently titled as the Equality Act.
The Center for Urban Renewal and Education (CURE) is a 501c3 nonprofit policy institute based in
Washington, D.C. (urbancure.org). Our organization works in three distinct areas of policy, media, and
the National CURE clergy network. As an organization, we advocate for policy solutions that have a
direct positive impact on communities rife with social and economic struggle. Our media center engages
with more than 4 million people, and our national clergy network encompasses influential clergy
leaders, pastors and bishops across the country who engage their local community reaching millions. We
are writing to you on behalf of those Americans in opposition to (H.R.5) the Equality Act.
The Equality Act (H.R.5) introduced to Congress in March essentially adds new terms “sexual
orientation” and “gender identity” to the federal definition of “sex” in civil rights laws. The Act would
integrate “gender ideology” into federal law. As a by-product, the Act would further regulate thoughts,
ideas, beliefs, and speech. Issues surrounding pronoun usage, healthcare, transgender bathroom
enforcement, and biological men competing in women’s sports are deeply troubling. Of significance and
speaking as a nonprofit, the Act could jeopardize charitable organizations as the potential changes may
violate an organization’s principles and beliefs.
Our network reaches millions of Americans, mainly from distressed communities. We see ourselves as a
voice for the voiceless. We care deeply about our communities and the ability to proclaim our faith. As
you mentioned recently, “there is power in prayer.” Our prayer is for God’s wisdom, guidance and
direction to lead you, Congress and the great people of this country.
It is on behalf of the millions of Americans that we write to you in opposition to the proposed Equality
Act. Any legislation which hinders healthcare, endangers the privacy and safety of individuals, regulates
free speech, undermines religious liberty, and threatens charitable nonprofits should be opposed.
Because of these reasons, we join with the following clergy leaders from across America to urge you to
oppose this legislation as well.
Respectfully submitted,
Star Parker: Founder & President: Center for Urban Renewal and Education, Washington D.C.
Rev. Derek McCoy: Executive Vice President, Center for Urban Renewal and Education, Washington D.C.

THANK YOU TODD STARNES FOR WARNING THE PEOPLE!
Lawmakers on Capitol Hill are about to begin debating the so-called Equality Act — legislation that is a clear and present danger to religious liberty. The Equality Act would literally force Christians to violate their religious beliefs on issues like marriage and sex. I dig into the proposed legislation on today’s podcast.
“We cannot allow claims of religious freedom to be used to discriminate against an LGBT individual,” Congressman David Cicilline (D-RI) said.
Tony Perkins, the president of the Family Research Council, said no institution or person of faith would escape the Orwellian reach of the law and predicted a” catastrophic loss of religious freedom in America.”

“Christians will be forced to violate their beliefs if the Equality Act passes,” read a headline on Christian Broadcasting Network.

Hice fears Democrats could use the bill, if it becomes law, to “totally totally silence and to some extent potentially even criminalize the Christian voice when it comes to the issue of marriage.”
The Equality Act is expected to pass the House – and there is growing concern Democrats could have the votes in the Senate.

In other words – President Trump’s veto may be the only thing standing between freedom and oppression.

Friends of Gone2Far,

HR 5 has passed the House Judiciary Committee. It is scheduled for a vote sometime this month in the House. The next legislative process, if passed in the House, is to send it to the Senate.

The “Equality” Act bans the use of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), as a legal defense from the government violating a person’s religious liberty. The bill attacks religious liberty head-on.

As it states from the language of the bill, The Religious Freedom Restoration Act shall not provide a claim concerning, or a defense to, or provide a basis for challenging the application or enforcement of this proposed law.

The “Equality” Act attempts to place religious freedom and belief as subservient to the goals of the LGBTQ+ agenda. Again, to be clear, even violations against your religious freedom by the LGBTQ+ agenda will not be allowed as a defense. The ramifications are wide-reaching and severe.

We know that Nancy Pelosi has made the Equality Act one of her top priorities. With full Democrat support, it will surly pass in the House. Our strategy is now to stop it in the Senate.

We must call those Senators who are members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, of which Senator Lindsay Graham is the Chairman. Tell them you are against the Equality Act!

Please find listed below the names and numbers of Republican Senators who will determine if it gets out of the Committee. In addition, please call Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and let him know you are against the Equality Act!

They are targeting your babies and grandbabies.
On the premiere of the 22nd season of the PBS animated series “Arthur,” Mr. Ratburn — the kids’ third-grade teacher — came out as gay when he married another male character, an aardvark named Patrick.

“It’s a brand new world,” one of the kids declared during the wedding.

Arthur and his friends, Muffy, Francine, and Buster, attended the wedding, intrigued by the idea — like most children are — that their teacher had a life outside the classroom.

Searching for the bride, the elementary age kids soon discovered it was another groom Mr. Ratburn was marrying.

This isn’t the first time “Arthur” has delved into the same-sex marriage debate.

Way back in 2005, the spinoff show “Postcards from Buster” featured an episode in which a little girl showed off photos of her mom and her partner, Gillian. Buster was visiting Vermont, one of the states that, at the time, allowed civil unions.

“So Gillian’s your mom, too?” Buster asked the little girl. “Boy, that’s a lot of moms.”

Ultimately PBS pulled distribution of the episode from the roughly 350 affiliate stations the publicly funded organization had at the time.

Though Pat Mitchell, who was president of PBS at the time, described the episode as “appropriate,” then-Education Secretary Margaret Spellings denounced the program, arguing parents would not want their children exposed to an LGBTQ lifestyle that early.

Our Aim Isn’t to Look Like the Culture Around Us — God Calls Us Higher

The creator of “Arthur” and “Postcards from Buster,” Marc Brown, said at the time he was “disappointed” by PBS’ decision not to run the episode.

“What we are trying to do in the series is connect kids with other kids by reflecting their lives,” Brown explained. “In some episodes, as in the Vermont one, we are validating children who are seldom validated. We believe that ‘Postcards From Buster’ does this in a very natural way — and, as always, from the point of view of children.”

From Rev Franklin Graham

I shared this similar story on my page with the question, when do we pull the plug on PBS? My girlfriend, someone I have known for what seems like forever responded to me by saying, why are you hiding this idea? It has no business on TV. If aunt so and so or uncle whatshis face want to marry a same sex partner, let that family explain it to their young ones. It is not right, it is spoke of often in the Bible, about the immorality of same sex anything. Long story short, I did not relent, and she told me to not call again, she was done. I am singing, I have decided to follow Jesus. I work in church music ministry, sing in church choir, and consider myself a disciple of Christ. I stand by my God and support Rev. Graham. Mitt Romney was right when he ran for president. PBS needs to be run on private funding because they are not a balanced news network, and now, they teach immorality. Shut down PBS now. Cut their funding Mr. President. God's people need this to happen, and soon.

No more Arthur for my grand Babies! 😡😡

No more Arthur for my grand Babies! 😡😡

Parent could stop this **Indoctrination of Their Children** if they spent time monitoring what their children view compared to the time they spend on Instagram, Twitter, and Face Book. Time to **TURN OFF** electronic devices and **PAY ATTENTION** to the curriculum being taught and get involved in their children's schools. MILLENNIAL are a lost and lazy generation of adults raising innocent children. Exactly what Socialist, like Soros, and the NWO have planned.]

It's only going to get worse. Sadly I wasn't surprised, I think most people knew or suspected that Mr. Ratburn is gay, and PBS was waiting for the right moment to have him "come out."

Sickening

Not happy about this one bit... Small children do not need to be indoctrinated into accepting a lifestyle that MANY people oppose.. POOR ARTHUR...Good GOD.

disgusting. Parents better guard their children, it is a twisted and perverse world out there. Train up children in the way they should go, teach them that just because the 'world' deems something right, does not make it so.

ATTN OKLAHOMA
Oklahoma Representative Kendra Horn (CD-5) is aco-author on this egregious piece of legislation (now S788 at the Senate). Call her office at (202)225-2132 and ask her to removeher name from the falsely called Equality Act and vote no on this bill!! If Kendra Horn does not represent Oklahoma's conservative values, WE NEED TO REPLACE KENDRA HORN!!
This legislation is nothing more than a Trojan Horse to stamp out Godgiven rights of American citizens, which is enshrined in the United States Constitution. This is an attack on life, the family, and the entire society as a whole. If this bill passes and gets signed into law, these are some of the terrible outcomes that will follow:

1. This bill will undermine the Civil Rights Movement which Black Americans, women and other minorities have fought for decades.

2. Churches and ministries will be sued and lose their tax-exemption status if they do not accommodate LGBTQ+ lifestyles and comply with the normalizing of their deviant sexual behaviors.

3. Children will be forced to learn about destructive LGBTQ+ behaviors in public schools as normative and even supreme over heterosexuality. (i.e. Drag Queen Story Hours already promoted in many libraries).

4. Parents who oppose LGBTQ+ History Pride curriculum will be charged with illegal discrimination.

5. Colleges and universities (public and private) will lose funding, grants, and scholarships if they do not embrace this new LGBTQ+ supremacy.

6. Public and education buildings will have bathrooms and gymnasium showers that must allow transgendered men into women’s facilities and transgendered women into men’s facilities. Children will not be safe in these environments.

7. Business owners will be forced to violate their freedom of conscience and religious liberties to accommodate all LGBTQ+ behaviors.

8. Hospitals and clinics will be forced to offer experimental and harmful transgender treatments and hormone therapies for children.

Praying that this will defeated in the name of Jesus

The demonratsare trying to overthrow the constitution of these United States. Not just with this bill but every bill they introduce. They are way out of line. It’s up to the people to get our elected officials( not our leaders) back in line at the ballot box. We are seeing things like we have never seen before. Men wanting to be women. Women wanting to be men. Young people who want everything free and don’t know what a hard days work is. Better step up at the ballot box or we will lose our freedoms that have been fought for and died for to preserve as we know them.

This bill violates freedom of speech

Kendra Horn is a disgrace to all Oklahomans. So sad she was voted in. Hope she will be voted out next election

VOTE NO! This does NOT reflect Oklahoma’s conservative views!

Why do all these special identity groups want something above what the constitution affords to all citizens. Divide and conquer.

Called and left my name, number, and opinion. Hope it reaches the right ears.

I did not vote for her. Won`t either.

Vote NO!!

Vote no!

Daniel

VOTE NO!!!!!!

I just called her office, told the fella that answered phone, tell her to vote NO, or we’ll vote her out. She needs to be removed anyway. She’s one of the dems dressed in white, at SOTU address, that doesn’t mind killing babies.

Our media center engages with more than 4 million people, and our national clergy network encompasses influential clergy leaders, pastors and Bishops across the country who engage their local community reaching millions. We are writing to you on behalf of those Americans in opposition to (H.R.5), the Equality Act.

The Equality Act (H.R.5) introduced in Congress in March essentially adds new terms “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” to the federal definition of “sex” in civil rights laws. The Act would integrate “gender ideology” into federal law. As a by-product, the Act would further regulate thoughts, ideas, beliefs, and speech. Issues surrounding pronoun usage, healthcare, transgender bathroom enforcement, and biological men competing in women’s sports are deeply troubling. Of significance and speaking as a nonprofit, the Act could jeopardize charitable organizations as the potential changes may violate an organization’s principles and beliefs.

Our network reaches millions of Americans, mainly from distressed communities. It is on behalf of the millions of Americans that I write to you in opposition to the proposed Equality Act. Any legislation which hinders healthcare, endangers the privacy and safety of individuals, regulates free speech, undermines religious liberty, and threatens charitable nonprofits should be opposed The Equality Act should be opposed.

Because of these reasons, we oppose the Equality Act and join with the following clergy leaders from across America. We urge you to oppose this legislation as well.

Respectfully submitted,

This is so wrong. If a child doesn’t have the thought already in their heads, they will by the time public schools are finished with them!

All people are equal and should be treated with dignity and respect. But not all ideas are equal, and the government should not force Americans to affirm politically correct and scientifically inaccurate views on sexual matters.

The Equality Act, under consideration in the House of Representatives, will codify political ideology by adding sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes in the 1964 Civil Rights Act. It could force schools to open girls’ bathrooms, locker rooms, and sports teams to biological males who identify as women. Moreover, it could politicize the education of at least 50 million public school students by forcing school districts to follow curricula that introduce students to the concept of sexual preferences and transgender theory, starting as early as pre-K.

It’s already happening at the state and local level — and parents are fighting back.

In the name of “inclusion” for students who identity as gay or transgender, five states (New Jersey, Illinois, Colorado, California, and Washington) and the District of Columbia have ordered that schools teach sexual orientation and gender in numerous classes. These laws weave LGBT teachings into all subjects with no opt-outs.

Parents in 10 other states (Alabama, Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Florida, and North Carolina) have succeeded in putting limits on this curriculum, but the Equality Act would erase those protections.

The protesting parents, including some with kids who identify as transgender, don’t want schools deciding what and when their children are taught about sexuality, much less infusing every classroom with LGBT perspectives. For example, some states require teaching that Francis Bacon and Emily Dickinson were gay. As Victoria Jakelsky, a New Jersey mom, notes: “When you teach about George Washington, you don’t teach that George Washington had sex with his wife and what he did [in the bedroom]; we teach what George Washington did as a president.”

Virginia mom Maria Keffler points out the website genderspectrum.org identifies curriculum as one of the four “entry points” to get transgender theory into schools. “Entry points,” she says, “are what a thief uses to break into your house. It feels very much the same way to me.”

But LGBT activists accuse these parents of bigotry. For LGBT-identifying students to be fully “included,” they say, requires that 100% of all students be taught to choose their gender identity. But, when a kindergarten teacher in Rocklin County, Calif., read I Am Jazz to students, they went home crying, afraid that they “could turn into” the opposite sex without knowing it.

Five-year-olds are imaginative, vulnerable, and innocent. Parents should be able to shield them from premature sexualization and gender confusion, not have the government force it on them via their curriculum.

What LGBT activists don’t teach students and parents are the facts about the irreversible path of “gender transition.” Jazz Jennings, the subject of I Am Jazz, started taking puberty blockers at 11. Eventually, Jennings took cross-sex hormones and underwent “gender-confirmation” surgery. Complications from the attempt to construct female genitalia from male genitalia caused “crazy pain,” Jennings says.

Students also won’t be told that hormone treatments can lead to impaired cognitive ability, greater risk of cancer, and sterility. Roughly 80-95% of gender-dysphoric children who go through puberty without hormones eventually become comfortable with their bodies. But, the Equality Act could bar counselors from helping kids become comfortable with their bodies. It could also put medical professionals who decline to perform hormonal and surgical sex-reassignment procedures in violation of civil rights law.

Trans-activists describe parents who don’t want their children to go down the path of “gender transition” as abusive, equating their choices with denying life-saving treatment for cancer or asthma. In Ohio, one judge already terminated parents’ custody of their daughter after they refused testosterone treatments. The Equality Act would lead to more kids being socialized at school into thinking they are gender fluid at earlier ages and make it harder for parents to find non-invasive treatments for them.

Children are loved, nurtured, and raised by their parents, not the state. Therefore, parents have the duty and the right to educate their children and to seek the best possible medical treatments for them. The Equality Act would wield a misguided understanding of “equality” against parents.

Congress should not be misled. Treating students and their parents with dignity and respect means allowing them to learn and to live according to their own beliefs about sexual matters. Codifying LGBT ideology into a civil right would take away fundamental freedoms from those who don’t conform. That’s not equality; it’s injustice.

Next week Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and the Democratically controlled Congress will be voting on the Equality Act, (H.R.5), designed to wield a wrecking ball to religious liberty. The bill has nothing to do with equality, but everything to do with punishing Christians' religious liberty.

Take action now by sending your U.S. representative a message to vote "no" on the Equality Act.

The Equality Act would expand the definition of the word sex in the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to include "gender identity" and "sexual orientation" as legally protected classes. The result will unleash radical liberals to attack those whose faith teaches that marriage is only between one man and one woman and that sexual identity of male and female is a fixed, biological fact.

By government edict, business owners, employees, and customers alike will be subject to a radical LGBT agenda:

Female business owners, customers, and employees would then be forced to share their privacy in restrooms and dressing rooms with men who claim to be women.
Health care providers and professionals would be forced to perform gender transition procedures (sex changes) and provide medical services (hormone therapy) that would violate their moral and religious convictions.
Amusement parks, recreation centers, skating rinks, and daycare centers, etc. will be forced to employ people whose values on sexuality deviates from those of the employer.
Adoption and foster care agencies will be forced to place children into same sex households and into homes of individuals suffering from gender confusion.
College and professional sports stadiums would be required to open its restrooms to either sex.
The Democratic Party has clearly laid out their intent to force Christians into subjugation to radical sexual deviancy. The Party's platform states, "We support a progressive vision of religious freedom that respects pluralism and rejects the misuse of religion to discriminate."

The "progressive vision" of religious liberty for Democrats was recently made visible by Chai Feldblum, the former commissioner of Obama administration's Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Feldblum clearly staked out the "progressive vision" of the Democratic Party when she said:

"I'm having a hard time coming up with any case in which religious liberty should win... Sexual liberty should win in most cases. There can be a conflict between religious liberty and sexual liberty, but in almost all cases the sexual liberty should win because that's the only way that the dignity of gay people can be affirmed in any realistic manner." (Emphasis added.)

Here's a resource to learn more about the Equality Act and share with others.

Placing my calls first thing in the morning!

When religious freedoms impact the individual liberties of citizens, then yes.

I want names of who voted for this. No re-election. I'll find names and post. Stay tuned.

Thanks Stephen for ur courage in getting the truth out about this awful “Equality Act” will infringe on our religious freedom. I hope more Christians will allow their eyes to be open to the truth.

Thank you for your faithfulness to lead with eyes wide open!

On December 1, an 11-year-old boy dressed in drag danced on stage in a sexual manner at a gay bar in Brooklyn, NY, called 3 Dollar Bill. The child, Desmond Napoles, was dressed as a Gwen Stefani-lookalike — full drag make up, a blonde wig, and crop top included — as he bounced around onstage to No Doubt's "Just a Girl" and collected dollar bills from male adults viewing the number.
